Intermusica brings the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra to the Lucerne Festival and Beethovenfest Bonn. Their performance in Bonn marks the opening of the festival, and features the Prelude from Wagner’s Lohengrin, Rimsky-Korsakov Scheherazade and Beethoven Symphony No. 4 all under the baton of Valery Gergiev.
In Lucerne the orchestra gives two concerts: the first - an all-Mussorgsky programme - features the ever-popular Pictures at an Exhibition, and Songs of Dances and Death with soprano Oksana Volkova. The second concert features three soloists delivering all five Prokofiev Piano Concertos.
