The BBC Concert Orchestra make a return visit to China in October 2018, following on from their successful debut tour to China in 2013. The orchestra are joined by percussionist Beibei Wang and conductor Barry Wordsworth for a six-stop tour featuring works by British and Chinese composers.
Wang will perform Tan Dun's percussion concerto, The Tears of Nature, which Dun describes as representing the different colours of nature: 'the colour of nature's thunder, the colour of nature's passion and the colour of nature's energy'. The theme of nature runs throughout a programme also including movements from Eric Coates 'Springtime Suite' and Delius' On Hearing the First Cuckoo in Spring.
