Nikola Meeuwsen

Meeuwsen’s 26/27 season includes performances in all the major halls in the Netherlands including the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), De Doelen (Rotterdam) and Amare (the Hague); he performs in solo recital, chamber music and with orchestras including the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Phion, Netherlands Chamber and Residentie Orchestras amongst others. He also makes many debuts across Europe including in Paris with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, in Prague as part of the Young Prague Festival, with the Orchestre National de Lille, Belgian National Orchestra, Antwerp Symphony, Krakow Philharmonic, RAI Turin, Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Brucknerorchester Linz. Conductors with whom he works include Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Marc Albrecht, Hermus, Hickox and Peltokowski.

In recital Meeuwsen performs across Germany including at the Cologne Philharmonie and Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, in Lucerne and in Italy at the Busoni Piano Festival. Further afield, Meeuwsen makes his New York City debut performing a solo recital at 92nd Street Y, at the Portland Piano International Festival and on tour across Brazil.

A devoted chamber musician, Meeuwsen has collaborated with established artists including Janine Jansen, Augustin Dumay, Denis Kozhukhin, Inmo Yang and Yamen Saadi. He also regularly performs with his teacher and mentor, Enrico Pace.

Meeuwsen was recognised as a talented musician from an early age, winning the Steinway Competition at the age of nine and receiving the Concertgebouw Young Talent Award in 2019. He has studied with Marlies van Gent since 2010 and with Enrico Pace at the Accademia Pianistica in Imola since 2014. Since 2022, he has been an artist in residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, where he studies with Frank Braley and Avedis Kouyoumdjian.

In his home city of The Hague, Meeuwsen plays on a Bösendorfer grand piano loaned to him by the Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation (NMF).
