Opera Britannia'Grange Park Opera managed to serve up a Capriccio which fulfilled these two diametrically opposing pre-requisites, firstly through an intelligent and thought-provoking production ensconced within the bijoux interior of the theatre itself, and secondly by engaging Susan Gritton as the Countess, a soprano who gave such a towering performance that one can readily speak her name alongside any of the pre-eminent Straussian sopranos of today.'
