During 2025/26, Nakamura performs Cio-Cio San in Madama Butterfly for Opera Colorado, returns to the New National Theatre Tokyo as Gilda in Rigoletto, and appears in concert with the NHK Symphony Orchestra (Slatkin) and Sapporo Symphony Orchestra. Last season, she made her debut with the Canadian Opera Company as Cio-Cio San, sang Amelia in Un ballo in maschera at Suntory Hall, and appeared in concert with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria (Karel Mark Chichon), Japan Philharmonic Orchestra (Leonard Slatkin) and for the Latvian National Opera.
Nakamura’s recent highlights include Cio-Cio San at the Royal Opera House, Royal Swedish Opera, New National Theatre, Tokyo and in concert with The Hallé (Sir Mark Elder), her debut for the English National Opera in 7 Deaths of Maria Callas, Amelia in Simon Boccanegra with The Hallé, Magda in La Rondine at Biwako Hall, Violetta in La traviata in Tokyo, the role of Hanako in Toshio Hosokawa’s Hanjo with the Catapult Opera of New York and Fondazione Haydn di Bolzano, and Verdi gala performances for the Scottish Opera. Previously at the Royal Opera House, she performed Musetta in La bohème, Frasquita in Carmen, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi and Giulietta in I Capuleti e i Montecchi as a Jette Parker Young Artist, and returned as guest to sing Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro (Sir Colin Davis), Sophie in Werther (Sir Antonio Pappano) and Liù in Turandot. As an ensemble member with the Bayerische Staatsoper, her many roles included Adina in L’elisir d’amore, Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Susanna, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Zerlina in Don Giovanni and Liu, and she has also appeared with the Wiener Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opera de Oviedo, Théâtre du Capitole Toulouse, Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile and Washington National Opera.
On the concert platform, Nakamura has sung Mahler’s Symphony No.4 and Rossini’s Stabat Mater with the London Philharmonic Orchestra (Yannick Nézet-Séguin), Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Japan, Osaka and Tokyo Philharmonic orchestras, St Cecilia Mass with the Orchestre National de France (Alain Altinoglou), Woglinde in Das Rheingold with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (Jaap van Zweden), Dvorak’s Stabat Mater with the Czech Philharmonic and Ravel’s Shéhérazade with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. She has also appeared with the Pannon Philharmonic, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony and Tokyo Symphony orchestras.
Nakamura is an alumna of the Osaka College of Music, the Opera Studio at the New National Theatre Tokyo, the Opera Studio Nederland and the Jette Parker Young Artist Programme at the Royal Opera House.
