  • Natalia Kutateladze is rapidly establishing herself as one of the leading mezzo-sopranos of her generation. Born and raised in a musical family in Tbilisi, she was immersed in the world of singing from an early age.

  • Kutateladze began her formal music education at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, where she performed roles such as Mercedes in Bizet Carmen and Marcellina in Mozart Le nozze di Figaro at the Tbilisi State Opera. In 2015, she furthered her studies at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York under the guidance of Edith Wiens. At Juilliard, she showcased her versatility, performing roles such as Ottone in Handel Agrippina and Minskwoman in Jonathan Dove Flight.


    In the 2018-19 season, she was part of the Young Artists Studio at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. During her time there, her repertoire expanded to include roles in a wide range of operas, including Philippe Rameau Hippolyte et Aricie (Phèdre), Handel Agrippina (Ottone), Stravinsky Mavra, Tchaikovsky Iolanta, Wagner Parsifal (Blumenmädchen), Puccini Suor Angelica, Janáček Jenůfa, Ernst Krenek Karl V., Donizetti Lucia di Lammermoor, and Mozart Le nozze di Figaro (Marcellina).


    Kutateladze established her career with significant debuts, including performing the title role in Bizet Carmen at the Santiago Opera, and Dalila in Samson et Dalila at the Tbilisi Opera House. She has also been a prominent figure in international vocal competitions, winning Second Prize at the 57th Tenor Viñas Competition in 2020 and becoming a finalist in the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World in 2021.


    Natalia Kutateladze has worked with conductors such as Kirill Petrenko, Simone Young, Keri-Lynn Wilson, Daniele Callegari, Marco Armiliato, Antonino Fogliani, Michael Christie and Bertrand de Billy, as well as with directors such as Pierre Audi, Lotte de Beer, Axel Ranisch, Barbara Wysocka, Günter Krämer and Martin Kušej.
